Here’s a proven way to attain your weight loss goals: hold yourself accountable.

1. Remember your diary back in High School? It’s time to buy a new one – and use it to write down what you’re eating every day. A recent study showed that this simple practice helped many lose weight more quickly and more successfully. You can take a diary–and thus your motivation– with you where you go, as it slips right into your gym bag or purse. Just knowing it’s there will help keep you on track throughout the day.
2. If the idea of a diary is a little quaint for you, you can always go ahead and tell the world how many sit-ups you’ve done, or what’s in your lunchbox today. Tweet or post your progress on line. Knowing others are watching is also a great way to stay motivated!
